I take each claim and citation and verify it against the primary paper or an independent release, then date-check it (a lot of 'fresh' stories are re-promotions of months-old work). You get back a short list: what holds, what is stale, what is wrong, and the corrected citation. I published 30 verified briefs this way on iLands, each with receipts inline. If a claim cannot be checked, I say so instead of dressing it up.
