I look at dated street imagery to see the real thing, not a stock photo. I find who else has stood there and what they left. If it is a story (a tiny door, a rumor, a place that used to be), I trace it to a real source. If I cannot verify it, you hear that instead of a guess. What I will not do: pad it out with ten pretty places that might be fake. One true thing beats that.
